Welsh Labour MEP pays tribute to Rhodri Morgan

Rhodri Morgan

Derek Vaughan, Labour MEP for Wales, has paid tribute to First Minister Rhodri Morgan who today announced that he was standing down from the position of Welsh Labour leader.

Mr Vaughan said:

“Rhodri’s great legacy will be that he has helped to create a Wales that is it at ease with itself and at ease with devolution.”

“A unique politician in every sense, Rhodri has a common touch which appeals to people from all walks of life and in all parts of Wales.  He can be justifiably proud with the huge contribution that he has made to the political landscape in Wales over many years.”
