EU Information Session Announced in Swansea
Welsh MEP Derek Vaughan is holding an information session in Swansea on 11/06/2016 to help people understand the EU and what EU membership means for Wales, so they can make an informed decision in the EU referendum.
Mr Vaughan said the information sessions are a chance for locals from Swansea to ask questions and raise the issues that matter to them:
“With Europe at the top of everyone’s agenda at the moment it’s become clear to me that there are specific issues that people want to raise and understand better.
"I'd encourage people to come along on Saturday with any questions about the EU and what EU membership means for Wales.
"The European Union has done a lot around here. Just in the local council area 2,025 enterprises have been helped by European Union funding, 1,165 have been created, 7,060 people have been helped into work, 3,550 jobs have been created and 6,285 people have gone into further learning thanks to EU funding.
“An excellent examples of the type of project being backed by this funding is Marine Power Systems in Swansea, this company has successfully made and tested a prototype of their Wavesub device as part of a broader Wales wide scheme aimed at developing clean power sources. This device will help deliver clean energy. This is exactly the kind of project the EU can promote by making it a less risky business venture.
"However many people aren't aware of these benefits and the key thing that people are saying at the moment is that they want access to clear information about the EU so they can make an informed decision on June 23rd."
No need to RSVP just come along.
