Yale College recently welcomed Derek Vaughan MEP who gained a privileged glimpse of lanterns and sculptures created ahead of Wrexham’s recent Year of Culture launch parade.
Mr Vaughan met up with art students in the College’s Memorial Art Gallery who had painstakingly worked on the remarkable sculpture in readiness for the high profile “Light Fantastic Parade” which took place this week.
Amazed by scale of the creation and intricate work undertaken by the students Mr Vaughan said, “Everyone who sees this spectacular creature will be very impressed,” he added, “Project work I have seen on my visits to Yale College have been excellent”.
Derek also met up with Yale College’s Principal, Paul Croke who was keen to express his appreciation on behalf of the College for sponsorship monies received from Mr Vaughan’s office enabling twenty government and politics students, accompanied by staff to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg in spring of last year.
“Experiential learning is a key part of our curriculum,” comments Yale College Principal, Paul Croke, “this kind of support is hugely beneficial to our students.”
