Local Labour MEP visits Pure Wafer, Swansea

Pure Wafer

Welsh Labour MEP, Derek Vaughan, recently visited Pure Wafer on Swansea Business Park, with local MP, Sian James on Friday, 01 October 2010 to find out more about how Wales is contributing to the high technology economy.

Pure Wafer is a leading company in the provision of wafer reclaim services that enables semiconductor manufacturers to gain further efficiencies in their production processes.  Based in Millbrook Drive, they have also developed a new way of recycling waste material for use in solar panels.

Neath-based, Mr Vaughan said:

“Our visit to Pure Wafer was interesting and informative and gave us as insight into the challenges that Wales faces in an evermore competitive global marketplace.”

“It is a cutting edge company benefitting from a strong, highly skilled and passionate workforce, and a fine example of how we are leading the way forward in this sector.”

“Their business is worldwide and shows how Wales can more than hold its own in the future knowledge economy.   I am greatly encouraged by the many companies I have visited across Wales in recent months that we can emerge from the current recession confident and well placed to take advantage of the innovation, talent and drive, that we have clearly have in organisations the length and breadth of the country.”
