Welsh MEP Announces Information Session in Pyle
Welsh MEP Derek Vaughan is holding an information session in Pyle on 21/05/2016 to help people understand the EU and what EU membership means for Wales, so they can make an informed decision in the EU referendum.
Mr Vaughan said the information sessions are a chance for locals from Pyle and Bridgend to ask questions and raise the issues that matter to them:
“With Europe at the top of everyone’s agenda at the moment it’s become clear to me that there are specific issues that people want to raise and understand better.
"I'd encourage people to come along on Saturday with any questions about the EU and what EU membership means for Wales.
"The European Union has done a lot around here. Just in the local council area almost 995 enterprises have been helped by European Union funding, 450 have been created, 1,435 people have been helped into work and 2,130 people have gone into further learning. If you look just down the road the centre of Bridgend received £3,506,411 to improve the town centre, the improvements there wouldn’t have happened without the EU. Wales gets big wins in the EU budget that we just wouldn’t get from the Tories in Westminster.
"However many people aren't aware of these benefits and the key thing that people are saying at the moment is that they want access to clear information about the EU so they can make an informed decision on June 23rd."
