Euro-MP to address University of Glamorgan MBA students

Derek Vaughan MEP

Welsh Labour MEP, Derek Vaughan, will be speaking to MBA Course students from the University of Glamorgan, in the Ty Crawshay Building, Treforest on Friday, 12 November 2010 to talk about Wales’ role in the EU and how local businesses can benefit from closer relationships with our European partners.

He will outline his role as one of four Welsh MEPs, the decision making process in the European Parliament and what the EU is doing to support Welsh businesses in the current economic climate.  He will also take questions from students on a wide range of EU related topics.

Merthyr-born, Mr Vaughan, said:

“I am looking forward to a full, frank and open discussion on how they feel their interests are represented in the European Parliament and what can be done to engage them even further.”

“It will be hugely beneficial, from my point of view, to get a grassroots view of the effects that our decisions have on local people and their communities, as well as listening to the students’ comments and concerns in relation to business and commerce issues.”
