Accessing European funding does not have to be a long and complicated process. There are a wide range of opportunities available to Welsh organisations and I have created this Directory to provide a reference point listing the different sources of funding that your organisation could apply for.
This Directory provides Welsh organisations with a practical guide to the various sources of European funding available, from Structural Funding to European Commission competitive programmes. It also includes tips on how to access funding programmes and links to Brussels and UK-based contacts that can assist in the application process.
Public, private and voluntary sector organisations in Wales can apply for funding from various European programmes to co-finance their projects. Since 2007, €1.9 billion has been allocated through Structural Funds to Welsh programmes. Millions of Euros have also been given to Welsh participation in Europe-wide projects through the European Commission's competitive funding programmes. This money makes a vital contribution to making Wales' economy more competitive and allows Welsh organisations to create strong links with Europe. In the current economic climate, with cuts in public spending across the EU, these funds are particularly important to allow Wales to continue to support prosperous businesses and thriving communities to ensure that all Welsh citizens fully benefit from the EU.
