Derek's work in the European Parliament


European Parliament

Derek was elected as a Labour Member of the European Parliament for Wales in June 2009.


He is a member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats and sits on the Committee on Budgets.

Derek is also a member of the Delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China.


He acts as a substitute member of the Regional Development Committee, Committee on Budgetary Control and the Delegation for relations with Japan.
